Navratri Celebrations at Shanti Mandir!
Navratri
A major Hindu festival of "nine nights" (nava meaning "nine" and ratri meaning "nights") celebrated for nine days and nights in honor of the divine feminine, primarily Goddess Durga and her many forms. The festival commemorates the goddess's victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated during the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin (typically September–October), it involves fasting, prayers, traditional dances like garba and dandiya, and the worship of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, with regional variations in rituals and celebrations.
